My School (6)
One of the most
important periods of our life is the period of studying at
school. It's actually the whole epoch for schoolchildren: they
get major knowledge about outside world, obtain certain skills
and get the experience of living in the society. It's here, at
school we learn how to behave and to cope with difficulties.
We begin our
school study at the age of 6 and at the age of 17 we finish it.
When at school we have our lessons 5 days a week. The classes
start at 8:30 a.m. (as I live not far from my school, so I have
no excuse to be late for classes) and at 3 p. m. the lessons are
over.
My school has got
three floors. On the first floor there is a cloak-room, a dining
room and a library. The library is well stocked with books from
the reading list of recommended books for pupils. Opposite the
library, there is a school canteen where pupils can eat
during the breaks.
Our classrooms
are on the second and the third floors. Most of the classrooms
are very much alike. They are all light, airy, with flowers on
the window sills, with portraits of outstanding people on the
walls and with charts and maps near the blackboard.
Nevertheless,
there are many specialized rooms for studying different
subjects. Chemistry, Physics and Biology are taught in
well-equipped science rooms. There are also schemes and tables
on the walls. A special room for computer studying is equipped
with computers. There are specialized linguistic laboratories
for studying foreign languages. Besides, pupils have lessons in
workshops, having practice in various crafts.
We have our
classes of physical training in either our gymnasium or on the
sport ground, situated behind the school building. On the first
floor, there is an assembly hall where parties meetings are
held.
As we become
older, we realize that there are some essential things and
places you always long to come back to. They are certainly your
birthplace, your home and the school you went to. We shall
always be indebted to our teachers for the rest of our lives.
Hard as it is,
the school life is very interesting. Most of the lessons are
instructive, and I must confess that school years are
unforgettable.

Один из самых важных периодов нашей
жизни — период учебы в школе. Это фактически целая эпоха для
школьников: они получают основные знания об окружающем мире,
определенные навыки и опыт поведения в обществе. Это здесь, в
школе, мы учимся как себя вести и преодолевать трудности.
Мы начинаем свое школьное обучение в
возрасте 6 лет, и в 17 лет мы заканчиваем его. Во время учебного
процесса мы учимся 5 дней в неделю. Занятия начинаются в 8:30
утра (поскольку я живу недалеко от своей школы, у меня нет
повода опаздывать на уроки), и в 3 часа дня уроки заканчиваются.
В нашей школе три этажа. На первом
этаже находятся раздевалка, столовая и библиотека. В библиотеке
есть все книги из списка, рекомендуемого ученикам для чтения.
Напротив библиотеки — школьная столовая, где ученики могут
покушать на переменах.
Наши классы находятся на втором и
третьем этажах. Большинство классов очень похожи. Они все
светлые, в них много воздуха, на подоконниках стоят цветы, на
стенах висят портреты выдающихся людей, а около доски —
диаграммы и карты.
Кроме того, есть много
специализированных классов для изучения различных предметов.
Химия, физика и биология преподаются в хорошо оборудованных
кабинетах. На стенах также висят схемы и таблицы. Специальный
компьютерный класс оборудован компьютерами. Для изучения
иностранных языков есть специализированные лингафонные кабинеты.
Кроме того, ученики занимаются в мастерских, где они могут
попрактиковаться в различных ремеслах.
Занятия физкультуры проходят и в
самом гимнастическом зале, и на спортивной площадке,
расположенной за зданием школы. На первом этаже есть актовый
зал, где проводятся концерты.
Когда мы становимся старше, мы
понимаем, что есть такие особенные вещи и места, в которые мы
всегда возвращаемся. В их числе, конечно, наше, место рождения,
дом и школа, в которую мы ходили. Мы будем благодарны нашим
учителям всю оставшуюся жизнь.
Трудная сама по себе, школьная жизнь
очень интересна. Большинство уроков поучительны, и я должен
признаться, что школьные годы незабываемы.
